My Audiotechnica M30s have broken and I am looking to buy new cans'. I have narrowed my list down from

  1. Creative Aurvana Live! (looks cheap)
  2. Sony MDR-V6
  3. AKG K 240 Semi-Open
  4. Sony MDR7506
  5. KRK KNS6400
  6. Fostex T40RPMK2
  7. Shure SRH440
  8. Audio Technica ATH-AD700 (looks old lookin')

to just the AKG or the KRK ones, narrowing just based on looks. I am planning to buy a E6 DAC to help bolster the audio.

Budget: 50$-100$.
Source: Computer, phone with E6 DAC
Isolation: Not needed, not necessary
Preferred Type: Over ear. Open or closed. I am used to closed and have never tried open.
Preferred Balance: I like classical music. Also, music with lots of high pitched notes. Not really fond of music with heavy bass (wub wub)
Past Headphones: ATH-M30- It seems that they struggle with loud, high pitched notes. My ears seemed a bit uncomfortable after wearing a long time- maybe my ears are too large? Iphone ear buds- Terrible comfort. Didn't fit in my ear.

I would appreciate it if anyone would recommend other headphones, or convince me that the headphones on the list are better than the ones I've picked.

If it would be helpful, here is an image comparing the two http://i.imgur.com/TP608k5.jpg

Save a few dollars, Samson SR850 headphones.
Made by Superlux (who makes Chinese knock offs of AKG K240 headphones)

Okay, so I have gone with, and will purchase the cheaper Samson SR850 since the reviews are favorable and it looks the same as the AKG.

Any ear pad that fits the AKG K240/241/270/271 or Superlux HD668, HD681, HD669,
will fit the SR850, you can get generic velour ear pads for around $15, on eBay.
