i obtained sennheiser HE 60 electrostatic phones ( dont ask where i got it ) but have nothing to drive them with.

the original amp for them is sennheiser HEV 70.

do you guys know where i could order/buy HEV 70 ? i couldnt find it on google.

another possibility is i might buy a STAX amp and a stax extension cable and then just splice the two cables together ?

any help appreciated !

If you don't mind telling, how much did you pay?

You can get a McAlister EA-1 for just a bit over your budget, but he's a bit backlogged at the moment. A Stax 007t would also work. Alternatively you could track down a pro bias Stax transformer box and pair it up with a nice poweramp.

Alex is selling a HEV70 here if you are interested.

What would be a good alternative solution, not using HEV70?

They're very good headphones, so will work nicely with the more expensive 'stat amps, but even a T1/006t will offer a sizable leap from the HEV70.

Agreed. What are you driving your HE60s with these days?

You would need a HE60 to Stax adaptor cable

All my 'stats (of which I've built up a bit of a collection now) are driven off a MOSFET poweramp via a transformer box.

How would I connect them though?

You need to either get the HE60s recabled/reterminated, or get someone to make you an adaptor cable.
