Hello, since I am new to the world of audiophile and to make my music listening more enjoyable I need a headphone recommendation's. I only listen to electronic music - here are few examples to what I listen to:

I was considering Sennheiser HD 650 but I am not 100% sure if it's right.

Budget is 500$.

Oh, and I'll decide on DAC/AMP when I get to know what headphones will I be getting.

Where do you plan to listen to them (I.e. home, office, or school)? That will be a factor in your decision on open or closed cans.

The V-moda Crossfade Wireless 2 is my favorite for electronic. It has the V shape that makes electronic music punch, but this newest model sounds more clear in the midrange than previous models. I had them for a month before buying my LCD3, so I did side by side comparisons even with the HD 650 and the older Vmoda m80. As a bonus, it can use a USB cable and bluetooth wireless if you want.

The downside being the looks :p

I'll be listening from home.
THX00, Vmoda, and maybe an open back like the Fidelio X2 I think are all worthy choices and don't really need an amp from what Ive read

For $500 there are quite a few that would do well with electronic music. I listen to a few of the songs I could find on Tidal as I would have to change browsers to listen to YouTube. It sounds like they were mixed with the 650’s or AudioQuest Nighthawks as it is treble heavy music to me.

ZMF Blackwood is a dark bass heavy headphone that I personally really like for electronica.
