you could try increasing the bass using an eq, about below the 100hz region.
i'm not sure what headphones at this price offers more impactful bass than the M50 though.

These are my choices right now:
ATH M50/M50S LE
Ultrasone 780
Ultrasone pro 750
Sennheiser hd 25-1 ii (Only if the price goes down)
Shure 840
Denon HP700

Some of these I'm waiting for the price to go down, but I'm undecided. :/

Never heard of it, I will look into it, any headfi reviews? What do you like about it?

Pros:
Detailed, comfy, portable, detachable cable, durable plastic construction

Negatives:
Bass light, unforgiving of low quality sources and music, midrange can be quite sharp with some songs, small soundstage

Wouldn't recommend for people who like their headphones with a bassy tilt. Likewise, I would rule out the Shure SRH840 as it's quite similar to the KNS8400(more upper frequency detail, slightly warmer sound).

The Denon HP700, Senn HD-25II and Beyer DT770 are good options in your budget range. The M50 is good value if you can find it around $100 or less. Slightly above your budget would the be Beyer Custom One Pro.

Well if the 8400 does lack the bass as mentioned, probably rule that out :/
Sadly, the HD25 and 770 are out of my budget, and the Denon is the only one left, is that a good final choice?

The Denon D1100 is a decent choice as well, especially since it's always heavily discounted.

I would say so, read through that thread I linked to a few posts back, it has some good impressions if you want to feel more concrete about it. I feel I should mention that I do spot some good HD 25-1's going on ebay for well within your price range though...

Just opened a set of Sennheiser HD 428 S.
Amazon has them for under $80
So far the bass is what I wanted.
They sound pretty good.

I should have bought the long cable version, but from the looks of this cable, I will be replacing it anyway.
They are a bit tight on my huge head (7 3/4 hat size)
