Is your Statement volume control going to be something like what Tent Labs did with the relay switched attenuation? Never heard it but I did notice their testimonial quote 'beats the DACT CT2 by some margin'.
 
How have you found such a volume attenuator compared to the various options out there?

Man, that amp's output looks gnarly. I wish it was the same size as the Asgard and had that power output, like an Asgard II hah. Alas, doesn't match the Bifrost in size.

In actuality, yes, it's very similar. Same number of steps (64), though we're still debating 1dB vs 1.25dB. And no barfy display--we'll be A/Ding a voltage reference so we can have a volume control with proper stops. I *hate* constantly spinning encoders. 
 
It's not a new idea. I did a Sumo preamp with a similar arrangement (Artemis), way back in the old days. It's by far the best way to do volume control, but it's a pain the the butt as far as software goes.

As  small businesss owner myself I'm always pleased to see other small business like Schiit thriving. I can't wait to see customer reviews of the new products and the upcoming statement products. I appreciate a company that knows quality and isn't into price gouging. Something that seems commonplace in audio. I put my $$ where my mouth is and I've owned every Schiit amp to date. Keep up the fantastic work!

Agree.  There's not very many US made products left that offer that kind of value, especially in audio.  Usually they use it as an excuse to jack up the prices no matter what the market is.

I hate my self. Just bought the BIFROST two weeks ago. $400 more I could be on my way to having a balanced set up

Balancing is more expensive than just the Dac, you need a balanced amp and cables for headphones and interconnects. Also this Dac won't be available for a while so you'd be without a Dac for a while if you had waited.

Yeah. I have replacement cables for two of my headphones for balanced setup. Got them for as a gift a while back for some charity work I did for a friend's organization.

I'm pretty excited to see what else they have in store for us. I honestly might hold off on these and wait for the wave of statement sales to get them...or just get the statement gear. Lol
