Will the statement amp has a 4 pin balance XLR output?

Great! I am planning to get a after market sleeveless copper or silver cable for my HD650. Since 4 Pin Balanced XLR will be available as one of the output, I'll get a 4 Pin Balanced XLR termination. 4 Pin Balanced XLR is less heavy and less bulky than dual 3 Pin Balanced XLR. Is there any sound quality different between 4 Pin Balanced XLR and Dual 3 Pin Balanced XLR?

In case if I don't go for the statement amp and go for Mjolnir instead, I can still use my HD650 and the new cable with it.

I am currently using Lyr. I guess I'll have to get an adapter with 4 Pin Female Balanced XLR and 6.3mm to use it with Lyr for now.

No loss using 4 pin.  If anything its easier on the builder so might be better.  The other option, the one I went with, is terminate in miniXLR and have adpadters for 1/4" and 4pin XLR.  2 miniXLR is light and kind of blends with the cable.  2 XLR is huge and heavy.  If that adapter isn't on the ground it adds a lot of stress to the jack.

I would suggest that you terminate all cables in something like Limo or Hirose. That way you can future proof your cable to be able to work with any amp.

I got mine done with Hirose as it is a little cheaper but in hind site I should have gone limo.

It will be great if we have more info for the statement dac. Next batch of andedio dac d2 can be ordered on july 4th and I really don't know should wait till the end of the year for Schiit statement or order anedio now? I will use it with my main rig (2ch speakers) and my amp doesn't have balanced inputs, so I'm not interested in them. There is a tread for anedio d2 on hi-fi and people are very happy.
I'm not in a hurry - I have buffalo 2 diy DAC with sabre chip, connected to virtue audio sensation amp and they are fine, but, well I have this dac for more than 2y, had it for $400 from the second owner and I'm looking for something better. The first anedio batch was sold immediately, so it will be great to be able to decide by June 4th....

The only thing that bothers me are the hard-to-reach power on switches. If they will be positioned the same as Asgard between the power cable and input it will be hard to reach the lower unit if you have both the amp and dac. I think it would be much better if the power button is either on the far right or far left if not on the front panel.

Class A stuff gets pretty hot and sucks quite a bit of power. For those of us who care about the financial aspect or the environmental aspect - switch placement can be a deal sealer.

x4. Front panel would be nice.

Going to have to disappoint I think.  No way they rework the entire product line to move the power switch.  More to the point, if its front mounted, I presume you'd want it pretty ;)  That's more case work, more dollars.  Personally I prefer a minimalist front plate, so please Schiit keep it in the back.  For the gents that like to power down their rig... I'm sure the power conditioner has a switch.  Boom, all your gear just went to sleep :p

Now for more interesting conversation... Schiit post the final board.  The teaser shot showing everything but the output section was too much to leave us just hanging :D

It does.  The boards are PCBs.  Currently the boards have the switch on the read.  Would mean redirecting the traces to the front and having them re-printed, re-milling the cases and dumping the ultitarian switch for a pretty one.  Not hard in the brain teaser sense, but financially unfeasible.  That sort of thing needs to be asked for while the design is still on paper.

The amp is still in "beta" stage isn't it? If so only few PCBs should have been made so far. It only takes a couple wires to redirect the button. It doesn't even have to be on the front if we are past the stage where the front panel can be modified but having a button somewhere else than in the middle at the back would be nice. So you could power it on from the side and not from the top since usually equipment is close to a wall. Its not about the looks, many manufacturers who put everything in sound quality have power buttons on the front, many people have racks which make power buttons inaccessible from any side other than the front.
