My friend Peterek has been harping on me forever to get a pair. He knows its my end-all headphones and told me tonight if I sent my audio stuff this week he would be able to get me a pair of hd800 with it. So it seems like a win. It doesn't hurt that the new hd800 are coming out so the old ones should lessen in value.

I got a Pair of Beyer 990, T70p, Senn 650 and centrance HiFi-M8. Thinking that should hopefully be enough. He seems to think it is and then some.

That should be fine. I'd value all that at around $900 conservatively. There was one going for $700. I'm probably selling the Magnum, OTL because it doesn't work with anything in my rig, and three different AKGs.

So I sent off my 9lbs of audio gear to peterek. I'm currently without any headphones (only my headset.) I'm hoping he can do some wheeling and dealing and get me a pair of Senn hd800 before the meet. If not my contributions to the meet are going to be very limited.

I think it'll be OK. Although our headphone to head ratio did plummet to 3.06! How in the world am I going to listen to four at once now?

Oh, I've never heard the Rx MK3... except for a real brief listen on a PHA-3, I don't think I've heard any portable balanced amps.

It would be quite awesome to have a pair of 800s there. 
 
I currently have 650's and 700's. I love them both, but they each have their own strengths that the other doesn't. I have a feeling that the 800's combine these strengths into 1 pair of ultimate cans, and I would love to be able to confirm that.
