NarMoo's Newest: B2M / W1M (Now with a Review!)

I too am very curious to hear Earfonia's final thoughts. I personally like the W1M the most. The S1 is the most technically adept, but the lack of mid-bass and thinness to the overall sound kills it for me. The B2M, well, I sent those on tour through my workplace. They were good but the driver flex and mild graininess to the treble didn't help.

Would love to hear some update thoughts on these now that they're all burned it!

I listen to mostly EDM and metal and am very interested in getting one of these (either S1, B2M or W1M). Just lost my pair of GranVela V1's and looking for something to replace them with that has solid bass, without losing too much of the mids/highs. I also just ordered a Digizoid V01 so something that would benefit from the bass boost on that would be nice.

Seems folks are divided on B2M vs W1M vs S1?

In short:
1. The old Narmoo S1 is still my favourite budget IEM (sub $50). IMHO Narmoo S1 is still (far) better sounding than the new B2M and W1M.
2. Burn-In doesn't seem to make much improvement on B2M and W1M.

My impression for B2M and W1M:

B2M:
More bassy than W1M, but overall has more enjoyable tonality than W1M. I'm not a basshead, and not a fan to boomy bass, but listening to both B2M and W1M, overall I prefer B2M. Somehow the mid-centric characteristic of W1M is too boring for me.
Bass is big and boomy, bleeds to midrange. But expected from bassy earphone. Playing from smartphone, Galaxy S4, that is generally not strong on bass and more clarity oriented sound characteristic, B2M is quite enjoyable, especially for those who like big boomy bass. But the bass is a bit too much for me when playing from DAP like Fiio X3 2nd gen. Treble is approximately similar to W1M, starts to roll off from around 6 kHz. Rather lacking in clarity, but not up to the level of severely muffled.

W1M:
n shape tonality. Rolled off treble, lacking of clarity. 6kHz onward. So don't expect any treble sparkle here.
Bass also rolls off early, lacking of body and punch. Midrange is forward and smooth, but a little too much emphasize on the midrange. Vocal is forward in presentation. I heard a kind of acoustic coloration, like an acoustic characteristic in a long reverberant hall. Somehow I do have that kind of impression when listening to W1M. Due to lacking of bass and treble extension, W1M is not as musically engaging as B2M, and overall tonality is quite boring to me, and imaging is rather weird and doesn't sound natural.

I am looking to replace my Brainwavz R1 in the foreseeable future, since they are about to give in after a year or so of almost daily usage.
Naturally I stumbled upon the Narmoo S1 and this thread after looking for a dual driver replacement. I can live with a slightly less bassy but more balanced IEM than my current ones. Think this one will make the cut?

I was about done to pull my creditcard until I found out they now have more options! I'm curious to see if the other ones stack up to the S1, and the mixed opinions about the B2M and W1M are not helping at the moment. Since the Narmoo S1 thread is almost a 100% positive, it seems that most 'audiophiles' prefer the original offering. If that doesn't change I will stick with my first choice. Any recommendations?

Cheers

That's unusual. They're normally pretty good about getting back the same or the following day.

You emailed sales@narmoo.com? Eric has always been the one to speak with in my experiences.

Yeah I contacted them a month ago And no email back. I tried again 3 or so days ago and no response

Just got mine in today (B2M) and hooked them up to my amp/dac (iFi iDSD Black Label) PC set up for a quick burn in while out on a shred of the trails this evening.. first impressions.....WOW. It handles the bass boost (don't need it but wanted to push it some more!) and 3D effects nicely from my DAC/AMp.. BOOOOOm.... BOOoOOOm... BOoOoOmm... BoooM.. (Mi Vida Loca-Kid Frost)  ;) Awesome pair.. can't wait to hear these when their finally broken in all the way.
