I got the NAD Viso HP50 headphones recently: http://nadelectronics.com/products/headphones/HP50-Over-Ear-Headphones

Hehe, "NAD".

edit: it was stupid trying to get impressions on these phones with my ****ty audio setup, I have since upgraded and am really liking these phones.

The cord is frustratingly short - I'd estimate about 3 ft. Why'd they make the cord so damn short? O well, extensions are cheap.

They are pretty comfy, although my ears get warmed up pretty quick, which could be a problem since I gotta wear these for long periods of time.. They are very isolating, too.

Your 20 dollar headphones?

Try spending a week with the Viso's, you'll be flaying yourself over that statement. Over-rationalizing perceptions can backfire.

Anyway, they were much better than my 598's. They are excellent, but I returned them for B&W P7's--these definitely have a wow factor and are better in some respects (slightly recessed mids, though).
