I purchased a Sansa Clip+ and it should be here this thursday. But i have some questions. I am only using it to play music encoded in flac.

Where can I find the latest firmware upgrade for the Clip+?

Is it worth it to download the latest firmware?

Do you have to turn the Sansa Clip+ On first before installing firmware updates?

Is this true about folder navigation on the clip+?  For example, selecting a folder for playback doesn't move on to the next folder after it's finished, but stops or repeats the same folder.  MMm

How would you rank the sound quality of the Sansa Clip+?

Also hows the battery life playing flac files?

Thank You All.

It wouldn't hurt

Follow the directions for the update and everything will be fine.

I've only had my Clip+ for a day then I Rockboxed it so I can't say too much about the sound.

I'll have to give it a try and let you know.

Thank You All.

You can also look at Rockboxing it.  A thread posed here talks about it and how the sound is much better after.

Here is a link to Rockbox

No problem, just glad to help.

I don't know much about the headphone world or sources, amps, dacs and upgraded wires but this site is helping me understand it all.

Since I already Rockboxed it they have a setting that you can play from one folder to the next and so one.

First test was, songs already loaded on 8 gb micro sd card and with a full battery.  FLAC files have been playing 12.5 hours and the battery indicates 25%, volume has been set at -15db the entire time, also minimal buttons have been pressed so screen hasn't been on long.  I'm thinking the screen has been on under 5 mins total and not longer.

Thank You All.

I hope this helps you out a little bit more.

Yes, the battery life for FLAC more than doubles with Rockbox compared to the Sansa firmware. One of many reasons Rockbox is great.

I received my Sansa Clip+ and I love it. So easy to use and the sound quality is very good. In fact it gets more use now than my Cowon D2+. It's a great little player for pick up & go.
