I just came home after picking up my brand new Stax Omega II Electrostatic System (SR-007 and SRM-007t). They are both the rare black units.
Could not say no to the deal I got, so I walked home with them.

No comment on the sound quality until I have burned them in for a couple hundred hours, but all I can say so far is... WOW!

I have just started to enjoy them, but I am sure we will have a long-term relationship. he he

Argh, why didn't they make the metal portion of the headphone gunmetal coloured?

Damn..

Congrats, though!

Yes. Congrats! I want to own some of those one day, but there is so much to buy and so little money.

Not the membrane inside the headspeaker, but the amplifier with tubes and cables. It is said to open up after 150-200 hours.

Congrats! I received my SR007/SRM717 last week and must say this is the first headphone that had me in awe right from the first listen. Enjoy!

Please tell us more about the black color option on the OII's. I've followed lots of thread regarding this Stax model, but never heard of a black one before -- the headphone and amp look sweet!

The dealer, which also are the Scandinavian importer, told me that I have one of three (or maybe four) black Omega II systems in Scandinavia. By official channels that is.
I have no idea how the numbers count for the rest of the world, but I understand they are pretty rare.

* The SRM-007t amplifier is all black, without the usual Champagne coloured front panel.
* The SR-007 headspeaker have black pads, headband and cable. Where the "regular" version have brown parts.

I think it looks a whole lot better than the brown/Champagne version most people have. So I am a happy fellow! he he
