I bought a pre-owned se, it quit working on me, contacted LD, sent it to their rep here in the U.S. and they sent me a new unit from china, no problems since....just e-mail them

I've purchased 3 Little Dot's from David. He's the best out there as far as service. Unfortunately I've have too many failures with Little Dot's early designs. Now I'd be afraid to purchase anything from that company.

Are you remotely sure that not even the capacitors or resistors even the smallest component of your equipment is not made in china? i.e. your lampcord?

You opinion would have been more credible if you had merely left out the mention of country. Crap is crap regardless of origin.

Real cool.
Get a friend who owns a soldering iron... and what ?
Is he the creator/designer of the amp ?
No duh, having the iron is not saying anything @_@
Who knows, that friend of his might just be showing off

Anyway, to TS, good job, you have no one to blame for not sending it back to LD since it is under warranty. From the various experience that many head fier shared, it seems that they pay for to and fro shipping too, whats there to lose ?
This hobby is quite a hassle to be frank, so whats with spending some time to repair it, by the correct person of course.
Its like why people would rather send their iem for reshelling to customs after warranty

[edit]
For god sake, can those retards that is bashing chinese products stop trying to turn this thread into the "Why is LD amps so inexpensive ?" ?!

My God, you're absolutely right.

My friend fixed while blindfolded, standing on one leg with an arm behind his back...

Most impressive.

It's a shame Little Dot amps have now this kind of a reputation. I still love the memory of my Little Dot amp from 4 years ago. It had some issues too but still sounded great. I ended up giving it to a friend of mine. IMO, Little Dot amps are worthy as starter tube amps. I paid about $150 for my Little Dot amp and it was worth every penny despite the flaws. After that, move on to better amps.

Logically you're all correct though, I should have used the warranty for repair. It's just in the past I've bought electronics gear from China and had no back up support whatsoever, stupidly I took it for granted that LD would be the same.

I'll contact them for advise and post the outcome here.

Thanks.
