my vote goes to the ksc35 over the ksc75. with a quarter sized hole cut into the foam, the highs and mids aren't smothered by the bass and become much more balanced, especially when amped. with shipping from creative, the total only comes out to $23 so you're getting imo a better set of cans for almost the same price.

you bought 12 pairs? WHOA! assuming you are hoarding them, and they last only 1 year each, that's still 12 years of enjoyment!

Kudos to the Koss KSC-35's, here's a recent anecdote.

A girl who works right next to me asked me for some help on checking the status of an order she had placed on Amazon. Turns out she had bought some headphones following a recommendation from his boss who had bought those same ones (some cr%ppy Sonys unfortunately). I told her she should have asked me, because I'm a kind of headphone-nerd

, writing on a Headphone related forum for a few years now, knowing about many excellent models etc, having heard some of them. She said oh please when her headphones arrived I should try them, and I said sure. So I did, and first thing I noticed, they lacked bass baaaadly. Told her so, and also suggested to let them playing some bassy music continuously so as to hopefully loosen the driver and bring out the bass as much as possible. After couple of days she said "maybe" they had improved a little, but not much.

I also told her I would bring some headphones I have which are actually around same price of her Sony's (around $20 bucks she said), so that she could check some good sound and bass. I did that today, brought my KSC-35's to the office.

She put the KSC-35's on, played some music that she likes, which I didn't even check, but her face said everything. After a while she said "Wow what a difference, these do have much better bass and sound, no comparison"... And another headfier was born

I couldn't justify the expense of 12 pairs all for me.. dammit it has cost a reasonable amount.. but ok, there are 12 pairs !!!

I saw them for sale and thought it'd be one of the last chances to get hold of some. I already have 2 pairs at the moment, 1 unopened.. thought it'd be an ideal time to increase my collection so i took my opened pair and pimped them round folks at work. Most who tried were impressed and i signed up 10 ppl to have them, including 3 for myself (1 for my sister, 1 extra, and another i may give a friend, dunno yet!!!

) i'm hoping they'll last more than a year, they're getting light use and i'm being careful with them

Should arrive any day, be nice to see if they're any different to the packaged ones i already have.

I've been wanting to hear a comparison between the new bright PX100
and the KSC-75. In another thread somebody said he broke his KSC-75
and replaced it with a new PX100 and didn't regret it. Sounds like I'll
have to buy both (sigh) and hear for myself. Thanks!

Are the KSCs so feeble that one needs a "n+11 redundancy" to stay tuned?

Thanks for your input. These PX100s probably have the aluminum voice coils, considering what they sound like.

Anyway, I'm very happy with my portable cans. Now it's time to find a worthy amplifier

Somehow this reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine is hoarding sponges. Pretty soon he may be wondering whether his music is worth putting wear and tear on his limited supply of KSC-35s
