Here are the lists of things my ideal Dap should have. I find these to be quite realistic.
1. SQ equal or better than Kenwood HD60GD9EC. I sold the Mediakag and
just bought Zune 80GB and pretty disappointed with the SQ of Zune. I
can no longer hear some of the background chorus and instruments on
same exact songs (especially with lower bitrate song files). Zune's just
too harsh and bit tiring on SE530. Embedded (separate) amp in addition to
main sounding core like Mediakag would be nice.
2. Smaller or same dimension as Zune 80GB with at least 3.2" LCD screen.
3. At least 80GB storage but prefer 160GB
4. Battery life should be about 20 hours for songs and 4 hours for Video
5. Able to play Video (MP4, AVI, WMV, etc)
6. No proprietary cable but connection via regular USB cable so the device
can be hooked up to any PC, any time.
7. No crappy software like iTunes and Zune, but simple intuitive software to
manager the music library with simple drag & drop capability. The device
must show as a USB drive.
8. More playing options than simple, play - all, random, genre, artist, album.
I was thinking more like RioDJ with many interesting options such as ..play
song added no later than <date>, rarely played, popular, album of day,
favorite, years, etc.
9. Software should support 64bit system, bug free..
10. FM/AM radio to listen some talk shows.
Now, is this too much to ask?
