I read that Bismuth (Peptobismal) and Tetracycline together kills ulcers.
I read it is caused by a bacteria, and this cures it.
He may want to ask his doctor about that.
Of course western doctors are into treating symptoms and not cures. Gotta make the money, but look online about it.
As long as his kidneys and liver are ok, cuz of the Tetracycline.

Also, talk to this guy in California and see if Alkaline water will help his problem.
Hes in California.
I deal with the NY guy , because im in NY....but my guy gives me free refills of the water all the time and i buy Himalayan Salt from him and other things. Maybe the Alkaline water will help him. Call the guy and see if he can help you.

Uncle Erik gave great advise. Nealrick didn't. Hospitals are for acute care. If not needed anymore, then the choices are either nursing home/rehab; home with home health, or a relatives home although I know it is not always possible. If he qualifies for mediaid/medi-cal, or if he has medicare he could have skilled days available for rehab. The social worker could help you a lot. The lawyer would only create problems right now. So far, there seems to be no evidence of wrongdoing. if je does not need acute care anymore, is time to start looking for another alternative. I hope he feels better soon.

No offense intended, but don't trust anybody without scientific data.

Thanks guys.. They released him this past Friday.. Still think it was too soon. He was very disoriented.. He wrote a check & put my birth date on it? He wasn't sure where he was at times. I told him I was going to Walgreens.. He thought he upset me & started crying. He is doing better.. A nurse comes by to check his vitals & his catheter. There is still blood in his stool.. He is going to the Drs tomorrow. Going to see his urologist. He is on Medi Cal.

In the bigger picture, it sounds like your life is going to really change. It's exhausting to have to take care of an ill parent, but ongoing care is so expensive it's not really practical for most people either. I've had to go through this once, but I was lucky to have support from other family members. Take care of yourself, it's really stressful.

Actually he has both. He was taking Predizone or something for his colitis, & it caused his Ulcers.. This was in 07.. & it is happening again.. Can't hold down solid food. No appeite.

This is a treatment for gastric ulcers caused by heliopylori bacteria, not for ulcerative colitis. UC is common enough that I'm sure the team of doctors knows what they're doing in terms of treatment for your father, although you can always get 2nd opinions from a specialist (gastroenterologist) elsewhere. Getting a home health aide is probably a must, at least for the time being. If this option is not affordable, a social worker will help you get assistance from the government. This is what medicaid is for, citizens who need and deserve it. Don't be ashamed in applying. Best of luck to you and your father.
