I've been looking for a DAC, headphone amp, and CD transport combination for a long time, and I think I've finally found a good solution in the Musical Fidelity M1 stack. Any opinions?

I like the fact that they're all the same size, so hopefully I can stack them one on top of the other (CDT on top, headphone amp, and DAC on the bottom). Do you guys think there would be an overheating problem?

I was looking at DAC+amp combinations, but others had failings. The Benchmark DAC-1 seems a bit long in the tooth without aynchronous USB. I liked the design of the Schiit DAC Bifrost and amps, but the company name is a bit too vulgar for my sensibilities.

Do you have the units stacked, one on top of the other? If so, are there any heat problems? Do they got super hot at all?

Does the headphone amp emit any buzzing or hissing?
