Keep it mellow and deep sounding. Pink Floyd is my favorite. I also like to play music that I like and that no one else likes, that way when people suddenly stop complaining about the music you will know they have a good hand

anything by the Rolling Stones. or Creedence.

Something that makes you feel like it is happening, but also somewhat simple and grooving so you can focus on the game and just feel good

Lots and lots of blues:

Albert Collins - Too Tired
Derek and the Dominos - Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out
Luther Allison - All the Kings Horses

Play some Skynyrd man! And some Creedence!

Tom Waits - "Better Off Without a Wife"

Quote:

I like sleeping 'till the crack of noon,
Midnight, howling at the moon.
Going out when I want to,
Coming home when I please.
Don't have to ask permission
If I want to go out fishin',
I never have to ask for the keys.

we were playing a few hands the other day and i left Coltrane's A Love Supreme on in the background. couple a drinks, smooth jazz, and a fresh deck of cards makes for a good night. oh, Mingus Ah Um would probably also be great. so would a lot of Zappa.
