So I say"It sounds Nice?Nice? It is the greatest coolist sounding music ever. How can you say that.(she kinda hurt my feelings)

I think you have answered this yourself. While they are still GFs, they seem to like your music a lot more. That's why I still enjoy my music with my GFs.

BTW, as I have earlier related, I realized several years ago that my tweaks of mechanically and electrically isolating components, filtering power supply, cleaning and conditioning electromechanical connections were collectively successful when SWMBO yelled from the other room "You've bought a new stereo, haven't you?!?!"

The "why women don't liek" is a big issue here in Head-Fi. I keep seeing threads pop up about it.

There are no girls on the interweb.

Lol my gf is the same, she says she hears no difference between her apple ibuds and my grado's

. I just get the look and shakes her head and sighs when ever i tell her what ive bought and how much it cost (usually minus a quater of what it did cost), but hey she spends lots of money on paint and pencils etc to get the best results for drawing n painting and stuff and i see no difference between the cheepo stuff and the expensive stuff so it swings in roundabouts really

Talk to them about decorating a bedroom and see what happens.

well my girlfriend appreciates better-sounding headphones but she keeps telling me "don't spend too much money for those"

Whilst there are always exceptions, as Plainsong demonstrates, I think the OP & his wife are probably fairly typical when it comes to this sort of thing. My other half is just the same. I have the most beautiful Sonus Faber speakers, hand made from walnut & leather. I think they're just fantastic looking. But, well, let's just say they are currently boxed up & in storage

. On the other hand, I spend bags of money on my bikes and get away with it, plus I get to go riding some days while she looks after the nipper. Ladies & gentlemen, imho, it's all about compromise.

Apart from this site I don't see many guys actually real interested in the highend stuff. More than women, I agree on that, but don't know many people who really care about spending a lot of money on hp's, stereo-installations, cameras and so on. They do like gear and hate shopping, I agree, but are most of the time easily satisfied though. And when they do buy high-end stuff it's to show off most of the time, like it is some extended dick.

Luckily I am not married to a woman, and my bf totally supports what I do, although he is not really in to this hp / music-stuff but that's ok. He enjoys the listening and can hear differences. Not something I see very often in a guy.

hehe. makes me think there oughta be a headfi dating forum (no! not really). I can see it now "head-fi dating: contributing to bankrupt households" or "ending wife on audiophile domestic violence for years to come"

My extreme obsession with my geek hobbies are one of my more alienating features, second only to my physical appearance. I don't envision myself having this 'wife problem' anytime in the near future :P

Good music (per se, or equipment) and my wifey is mutually exclusive. She thinks 10 year old car stereo is good enough

Hence my other hobby...Ninja upgrade

Why do ALL men seem to lump us together into one group? We're PEOPLE too. Perhaps if you got to know her as an actual PERSON, you'd know what those interests are and know why she's not into music, or rather, what kind of music she is into. Perhaps her priorities are different. That doesn't make her some kind of alien being.

(See the irony there? Did you like being lumped into a group like you're sheep in a pasture?)

I don't know, it's just a thought, since you're married to her and all, may as well get to know her.

My wife has her own hobbies... Head-Fi gears, too. However, they sold them in the cosmetic departments.

They have boobs. I mean honestly, if I had them I doubt I would need so many other hobbies or things to play with.
