Man, I tired Murine Ear wax cleaner and it caused my right ear to ache quite a bit. The ear pain was enough that I gave up on it (supposed to use it for 4 days, and flush water on the 4th day), so I flushed my right ear last night (the first night I used the stuff.)

Feels better now.

So, can anyone recommend a great ENT in Los Angeles (preferrable near Torrance) area? Mine apparently doesn't know what he's doing.
I asked him about getting my ears cleaned, but at my last visit, he said it didn't look necessary. He also claimed there was nothing wrong with my right ear, as it was giving me weird problems. But It doesn't seem to be a coincidence that the Ear Cleaner fuild caused so much pain in the right ear.

If the ENT says your ears dont need cleaning then they dont need cleaning. I was like you...dangerously...used to clean my ears with that stuff before every listening session...

leave it in for 4 days??

check the instructions - you are supposed to use it, let it soak for a few minutes and then flush it out in the same session...not after 4 days!! Can you confirm the instructions!!

I went to an ENT. He said my ears didnt need cleaning. I had some packed wax in one ear and he removed this (PAINFUL!!!

) after spraying local anaesthetic.

After that my hearing is more balanced and focused. I have also stopped using those damned Q-Tips. If I feel itchy and if a warm baby oil followed by warm water flush doesnt help then I head to the ENT. He looks me over for free because I am never in there for more than 10 minutes

He also knows my Dad pretty well...

Anyway - let the ENT decide...

cheers!

It says any ear wax reamining after the 4-day treatment may be removed by gently flushing the ear with warm (body temperature) water, using a soft bulb syringe.

It says nothing about using the bulb right after each use, twice daily.

I suppose they assume you will do that, but c'mon, they could be a little clearer than that.

I've used E.R.O., but find that a few drops of Hydrogen Peroxide works much better. I can feel a build up start after about 10 days, so I repeat every 14 days.

I had the same problem using EarClear (Carbamide Peroxide based) I don't know how good it is though, the Chemist recommended it to me and she was pretty convincing about it's effects. I had minor ear pain and irratation after just the second session of the day and I was only using the minimum 4 drops when the packaging suggest using 4-10 drops, it also suggest that you do to not use it if you're experiencing ear pain/swelling/infection, but I was fine before I started using it! i'm usually pretty tolerable to most chemicals and have pretty resilient ears (I'm using grados for christ sake

). I don't know how I could last 4 days using that stuff, even though I could feel the earwax melting away inside my ear. I can still hear a tiny bit better out of my left ear and i'm pretty sure there's some wax in my right, I just hold my nose and blow and I can hear it clog up.

I bought mine at WalMart, so it's only 3% solution. To me, it seems to clean better than E.R.O. (Carbamide Peroxide) - it doesn't feel syrupy in my ear. For me its a natural as I always put 7 drops of Hydrogen Peroxide in my ears when I feel a throat tickle, cold, or fever coming on.

Yeah, I'm going to try smaller amounts and flush with water afterwards.

I used 7 drops.

The marketing man is selling seawater to clean your ears in the UK http://www.audiclean.co.uk/ what next
confused.gif

"AUDICLEAN is made from 100% Sea Serum™, which is a naturally-derived isotonic solution with no preservatives - therefore it's safe for regular use."

Salt water.

"AUDICLEAN Sea Serum™ is produced by world leading marine biotechnology specialists, GOËMAR. It is created from seawater taken from the crystal clear waters off St. Malo, France. The tides here are amongst the strongest in the world, constantly enriching the pure waters with the natural mineral salts."

Salt Water.

"AUDICLEAN is manufactured using patented and unique technology. The process purifies and sterilises the seawater while adapting its composition for optimal efficacy and tolerance."

Salt water with added bull****.

"Spray for 1 second to instil the solution in the ear
Gently massage the base of the ear for 5-10 seconds
Tilt the head to drain the solution and wipe with a clean towel or tissue
Repeat the process for the other ear"

Cheaper solution, dip your head into the sea or spray some salt water in your ears.

"AUDICLEAN is made from 100% Sea Serum™"

Salt water (™)

"AUDICLEAN remains sterile between uses and, as it contains no gas propellants, is delivered at room temperature, for your complete comfort."

No gas propellants apart from the hot air marketing.

i used the murine solution and it made my ear ache. i didn't read the instructions so i figured pouring it in and mixing it with a knitting needle was fine (kidding).

i also use hydrogen peroxide. a little hp mixed 50/50 with warm water to get body temp solution, and i pour it into a small glass and then into my ear canal. it bubbles for a while then i pour it out of my ear. like walli i use it sometimes when i feel a cold coming on, or a slight earache, etc.
