I have bought shure e4 recently and now I wonder if chancing my mp3 player would make a difference on sound quality. I have read (most?) people prefer amplifier with e4 but how does a powerful mp3 player stick in?

Let's just compare ipod nano and cowon t2 unamplified, is there a difference to be seen in sound? Other comparisons would be great too.

Atm I'm using shure e4 with sony nw-e100 series player.

Thanks in advance

I spent a fortune on mp3 players , i realised after a while that the difference between good ones (good read - most cowon, 2nd gen touch, vibez etc not your £10 cracker crap) is very very small and without really good earphones not really an issue on the move.
At home through your amp you will notice a bigger difference.

The e100 was reviewed badly for sound quality and if it sounds anything like the X20 i had you could improve on it.
