Respected people deserve recognition. Who are the Head-Fi'rs that you have the most respect for? You can define this however you want, but try to keep the list somewhat shortish, if not only for practical reasons then because as more people are added to your list, the less meaningful each further entry necessarily has. Absence from the list doesn't imply in any way a lack of respect, and probably just reflects my forgetful and absentmindedness. Without further adieu, my short-list of respected Head-Fiers include, in no particular order:

jude (obviously, for without whom we would not be here (I don't mean on Earth

Who do I expect are the most respected or who do I most respect?

And then there's the issue over respect itself. Am I going to think about head-fiers who I get on with well, with whom I have a rapport, but whom I don't necessarily have any actual respect for in the manner in which I think you are asking?

If I exclude people who consider me a friend or who respect me from my list, then that risks offence or a notion of besmirchment.

I cant be bothered finding the links at the minute, but there's some great anthropological material which is self reflective on topics like this, particularly in work with young children who are given tasks like "who are your friends? who is your best friend?" and the tasks aren't confidential.

I think I'll just go with blanket statement and say that I have respect for any head-fier of character and experience who isnt full of crap. Then leave people to decide if they fit the prerequisites.

I certainly don't because I'm full of crap.

Lots of great people here, but dsavitsk is hugely worthy of respect.

Not to suck up, but Jude and the moderation team do a whole lot of mostly unrecognized work. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to keep things running.

Don't be mad at me if you feel left out.
There are simply too many friendly and respectful people around here to list you all. Have me excused.
