Most disappointing headphone purchase

Sennheiser HD650

Far too colored and laid back to be considered any sort if reference. Can't wait to find a more accurate replacement.

Grado GS1000e

I wanted to like them.  Missing content below 100Hz and and too close to my 325e. Not bad; just not what I expected for $1K. :)

For me, it was my Alpha Dog, too veiled sounding and, I don't think I'd imagined this, it has a hollow sound. Yes, the earpads are comfortable but the sound was just wrong to my ears. Only reason why I'm keeping mine, aside from me being a sort of hoarder of cans, it's the only close back can I have that isolates well enough. I'd just acquired the Denon AH-D2k and though it's a close back can, it doesn't isolate well.

KEF M200 - reviews are favorable but no matter what I try, I can't get them to sit in my ear correctly. I've spent another $40 on tips and borrowed tips from every other IEM I own.

Just out of curiosity, why?

I love my DX1000, but if I had to hazard a guess for his reason, it would be the tendency for the DX1000 to sound cavernous and sometimes echoey. For some music it sounds weird that is certain.

The Shure SE846 has plenty of bass. Does it better than most full sized headphones even.

AT MSR7, so beautiful, well made, feel of quality, the metal construction is excellent, the plastic also very sturdy.  The bass is excellent, lots of impact, but the mids and treble are most sibilant of headphones I've bought so far.  Needs to be returned.

The other headphone I was deeply disapointed in was the creative aurvana live 2. One of the most surprising earphones I've used is the t-peos black & white($40!!!) I have the xba-h1, h2 and h3 and the the $40 t-peos outperforms all of them and scales wonderfully with eq. I've owned well over 20+ earphones until I decided to go full headphone. Now my two go-to cans are the t-peos LCD-2.
