I have $200 and I'm in the market for comfortable closed cans. Anything I can wear 5-6 hours without a second thought. For sound qualities I don't need it to be good for any specific type of music. I listen to a wide variety.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm biased cos I own them, but most folks agree (and I surely feel this way), that the Audio Technica ATH A-900 headphones are very comfy. They are closed. You can buy them for $200 or so at Audio Cubes, one of the site's sponsors.

The DT770, however, is widely regarded to be even more comfortable

You just can't beat Beyer velour.

Which mod are you referring to? Just bending the forks out a bit?

Both DT770s and A500/A700/A900 are very uncomfortable in the summer IMO. They are like earmuffs!

I have a pair of A500s here with me right now. Its 78F in my house, and these things get sweaty in no time. Maybe its just me, but I find em very uncomfortable in warm climates.

That's the first time I've heard someone say that velour earpads are particularly uncomfotable in the summer.

They are to me. Maybe I sweat easily or something, but the pads get soaked after an hour or so

I cant enjoy my Senns during the day anymore, due to the heat.

I do agree that in warmer temps your ears can get a little bit warm with the DT770s. I use mine for gaming sesions. I always take a 5 minute break every 1.5-2 hours.
