Yamaha's entry level cdp looks surprisingly sparse and elegant, IMHO.

Classé is classy!

No offense, but I had the Omega SACD2, and as classy as it was, it was also pretty disappointing on many levels.

Too bad Peter Lyngdorf can't get his room correction up to par. Not to mention the fact that he is basically using the same casing that TACT has been using for the past 10 years.

sorry guys. granite > aluminum/steel/metal of choosing!

edit: although, they don't use the VRDS. still, i hear the Philips PRO2M is a good transport nonetheless.

For those who like radio:

I can't get the photo to post here. Argh.

Anyway, I picked up one of these several years back. It's a Hallicrafters Skyrider 23, circa 1939 with fantastic AM and shortwave reception. 13 tubes. You would be surprised how good AM sounds with a proper circuit, a good antenna and vacuum tubes.

It's already been posted, but I'm also partial to the Michell Gyrodec. Great design.

From what forum did you get this?

I actually saw this at the 2006 Hong Kong High-End AV Show. Pretty cool player IMO. You have to place the CD upside down because the pick up is from above. I didn't really get a chance to listen to it properly.
