for <$300 What's the most 3d, breathy, airy, transparent, realistic(good soundstage) headphone. I want interesting  mids/highs which aren't too harsh or sibilant for techno/trance.I already have dt770/80 for my bass music but i don't want it to lack bass, i want balance but bass isn't priority since i may try eq up the bass and if it's good enough(quality wise) i may sell my dt770's. I'd also like reasonable comfort..

AD900 maybe. DT440 if you want a bit more bass and somewhat smoother mids/highs.  K701 or DT880 if you have a good amp or plan on getting one soon (eg corda cantate).

yes a K340 might be the only one to meet those requirements.  Given it is a good unit (not all K340 area created equal) and you have lots of power to feed them.

DT880 or DT990 could be an option too.  But it totally depends on your idea of natural treble presence and what natural sounds like.  I didn't find them very natural sounding.  But some love them, and I bet they would be pretty good with trance type stuff.

For 3-D sound stage with Trance, Ultrasone PRO 550 should be on the top of your list. Incredible bass and great application of the S-Logic system in the Pro series. I would not recommend the PRO 650, Denons do things all around better than the 650, but not the 550.

Not even the Denon D7000 can match the Ultrasone Pro 550 with trance.

Soo pro 550, dt880, k701, AD900 so far

can someone thats heard dt770/80 and any of above tell me the difference in soundstage and mids/highs, i assume they have less bass quantity but more tight/punchy?

Wooooahhh, total reverse. They have waaaaayyyyy more bass than everything there (not sure about the 550s), and the bass is muddy, the polar opposite of punchy. Pretty good soundstage for a closed can, but mids are real recessed and the treble is bright.

No i was saying the list would have less quantity but tighter/punchy bass, obviously not vice versa, they wouldn't have more quantity than the dt770's since they are known for quantity lol

The K701 also need some good amp in order to really shine, the Little Dot I+ is quite nice if you don't have the budget for a Heed CanAmp.
