While I have no problem outing myself as someone watching Anime even at my age, the faceplate is an absolute no go.

Having the art on the packaging, like with the MIAD01 is fine, but not on the device itself.

Imagine this is, like, the best IEM in its price range. That would be pretty sad because of the faceplates. Let’s hope it isn’t actually competitive.

+1, although the IEM spec looks promising, that face plate is insta-turnoff for me...

I love a good sounding pair of IEM's and while the price is a stretch, I'd be embarrassed to walk around with them in my ears. The look speaks to 'perhaps' a younger generation while the price speaks to an older generation....meaning I don't know of too many 20'somethings with $2k to blow on IEM's.

Love the faceplates, moondrop through and through. My custom LX had face on them.
But a celebration iem should be nowhere near this price range as a celebration product is supposed to be most accessible for the moondrop community that is budget buyers mostly imo. Ya'll not Luxury & Precision or Eletech.

As a 10th anniversary set, I'd say the anime plate is well justified,
given that we also enjoyed Crinacle as an anime highschooler.

LOL. Jokes aside.

I hope this set is also a culmination of 10 years of Moondrop's R&D efforts,
and a worthy competitor in its price bracket.

Your own Moondrop Meteor has one less DD and two less BA per side and cost quarter of the price. The Thieaudio Valhalla has 19 drivers per side at the same cost. So I'm paying for an anime waifu faceplate? What am I missing?

You're missing that number of drivers has no correlation to product price, RnD efforts or even sound quality

I’m not really interested in another multi-kilobuck IEM as I am already well served in that category, but man I like that faceplate. It’s by far the most tempting aspect of this.

Will there be different faceplate options? I don't think people who are at a stage in their life where they can afford a $2000 IEM are going to want to have headphones decorated with an, er... maiden ... These will definitely be on my shortlist to audition but I can't see myself wearing them in my office or public places.

On the waifu issues:
- if you have waifu (like fr)
- and she gave you these or similar waifu-clad IEMs - beware!
- she marks you as undateable for all other willing and ready girls out there.

@themch repelling a woman who would discriminate your hobbies? sounds like a sure way to prevent losing any time on someone who doesn't want you but just want to turn you into what she wants. a hard pass on that kind of people.
