I have been a Python fan since I was a sophomore in high school. It dawned on me that there has not been one thread here (at least that I can recall) about them. What is/are your favorite sketch(es)?

BTW: sketches, not scenes from their movies.

Here are a few of mine:

The Architect's Sketch
The Argument Clinic (A classic)
The Crunchy Frog Sketch
The Dead Parrot Sketch (another Python classic)
The Lifeboat Sketch
The Lumberjack Song
The Package Tour Complaint (rant)
The Pet Shop Sketch #2
The Piranha Borthers
The Spanish Inquisition
The Undertaker Sketch

[EDIT]

Not really a sketch, but I loved Graham Chapman's
interruptions of their sketches.

There was one about Twit of the year. If I remember correctly. Or "It's only a flesh wound".

Used to love watching that and Benny Hill.

One that I forgot about was "The Ministry of Silly Walks" with John Cleese.

BTW, did anyone see that PBS Python special recently where they reunited? And, as Graham Chapman had passed away in 1989, they had an urn on a chair that had his "ashes" in it. One of the Pythons knocked the urn over and all of the ashes spilled onto the floor, so Eric Idle comes out with a vacuum cleaner........

Oh, there are so many. What's the name of the one where the old men are arguing about how hard they had it growing up. "We used to dream of living in the middle of the road" or "We had to go to work a 1/2 hour before we went to sleep".

Hell's Grannies and the Lumberjack Song are definitely on the top of my list.

2:

"Walk this way."

"If we walk that way..."

3:

"Is this the Department of Complaint"

"No this is the Department of Abuse..."
[edit: the Argument Sketch].
4:

any scene where there was prodigous bleeding or where they were "climbing the ground", or any scene where the word "person" was uttered.

And of course, #1 - 'No one makes fun of the Spanish Inquistion':
"You are accused of heresy on three counts - heresy by thought, heresy by word, heresy by deed, and heresy by action -- *four* counts."

wasn't the Spanish Inquisition in more than one episode?

Worse skit: Mr. Bicycle Repair Man.

I loved the Confuse A Cat and the one where John Cleese (sp?) was teaching self-defense when someone attacked you with a piece of fruit. He gave a student a banana and told the student to attack him. Just as he came at John Cleese he pulled out a gun and shot the student. Another student asked him why he shot the other student and he replied, "Because he came at me with a banana."

There are so many instances of genius, it is hard to make any list. Some of my favorites in no order.

Self Defense (fresh fruit)
Summarizing Proust
The world's funniest joke
The world's dirtiest word (SEMPRINI!! )
Spanish Inquisition
Silly Walks
The Bicycling Tour (an epic whole-episode extravaganza)

I have a special place in my heart for those making fun of philosophers, e.g.,

The Philosophy Department at U. of Woolamaloo (philosopher's song)

A visit to Mrs. Sartre
