I'm looking to upgrade my Monster Turbines (the black ones), would the Klipsch be enough of an improvement to warrant the upgrade? They're only about 90 on Amazon currently. My sources are a US HTC One X and a Nexus 10. I listen to a collection of alternative rap, rock, and some reggae, mostly in either 256 or 320 kbps mp3. The biggest improvements I'm looking for are comfort soundstage and overall clarity, and would not use them at home (have hfi-580's for that).

I have not heard Monster turbines, but own the Klipsh X10s, which I prefer to every other universal IEM I have owned, including top-of-the line Shure's.

The Klipsch X10 are very good IEMs.  They are easy to drive (you don't need a headphone amp to get the best out of them).  They are very comfortable, certainly the most comfortable universal IEM I have ever owned (my main complaint with Shure IEMs).  They are very easy to use "on the go" -- very easy to get a good fit and seal.  I think they have good extension at both frequency extremes and are pretty detailed and transparent.  But, they are fairly neutral overall -- good bass, but not a major point of emphasis.   This is one area where they probably will fall shy of your Monsters.

Since Amazon allows you to return merchandise within 30 days, you could always return them for a refund if you don't like them,
