Hello everyone
I'm going to buy a pair of new IEM and currently looking at the Monster Turbine and Monster Dr. Dre Tour. (I did look at the Klipsch X5 but it's kind of expensive and the cable looks flimsy, I like more sturdy cables .

I can find these two at very similar price so the price difference is not a problem.

I used to have a pair of Bose In Ear headphones before I...couldn't find them anymore....
The bass of the Bose IE was good(for me) but the highs and med doesn't feel detailed enough. I'm no expert in headphones tho, so it's all person opinion based on user experiences

I don't know any places that I can try the Turbine or Tour in Houston area, so I think I have to make the decision based on information from the internet.

I'm sure the med and highs are better with the Turbine/Tour, but does anyone know how the bass of Turbine/Tour compared to the Bose IE? Which one of these two do you guys recommend? (no red cables does not bother me

Also, how good is the Monster Lady Gaga earphones? I'm think about buying a pair for my girlfriend since she's a fan of Gaga

Thanks

Welcome to head-fi.
The Monster Beats series in general is not very well received here, because many don't consider them audiophile headphones. The Turbines (especially Pro ones, but quite expensive) on the other hand have gain quite a following here. The standard Turbine has also been known to have some build issues though.

You can read more comparisons (Search is your friend):

Btw, Bose is not very well liked here either......

the Gaga's are known to be horrible. Don't buy them.
So are the Bose,. Don't buy them ever.

Anyway, questions both for you and your girlfriend to help you find the best for your money:

What are your music tastes?
What's your budget?
How will you use it?

At least you asked in the right place.

I know Bose is usually not well liked in audiophile communities, but I do find the Bose IEs very comfortable although the sound they produce is not very accurate.

I guess I will look into something other than the two I mentioned

I listen to different kind of music, mainly movie sound track kind, Chinese/Japanese/English pop, and some techno.

Budget, I'd say no more than $175. Will use it in school, while traveling and stuff. Won't be using it at home much since I have a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers.

And I end up buying her a pair of Audio Technica ATH-CK6WPK since she like the pink look of it, so don't need to worry about her anymore

BTW, are Shure SE210s and Klipsch Image S4 any good?

I really really enjoy my S4s. Though, I snagged mine for $65, so I can't really say they're worth full price... MUCH better than anything I've used before though... Really loving these things. I recommend them for sure!

One thing I've learned from Head-Fi:

Bose is a four letter word around these parts.

Even though it technically is...I mean...the word "Bose" only has four letters in it regardless but...you get what I'm saying!

As far as the Beats vs Turbines, I'd go for the Turbines. From what I've heard, the Turbines are a great deal better and will likely cost you less than the Beats as well.
