Just sent you $40. Thanks for your contribution to the community. Given my past experience with Oratory, the M1570C will become incredible cans.
Awesome, thank you so much. :beerchug: And yup, I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

Beautiful work. I think I'll think about painting mine like that too :) Can you use any silver spray paint as a base?

Sorry, I didn't see your post back when you made it. I recommend using a silver with a good bit of flake to it, that way it shows through in the candy coat.

Tracking shows delivery on one of the two packages I sent Oratory, and I'm pretty sure it's this one. Gonna reach out to him for confirmation. 🤞

I just bought the M1070C last week. It was listed on sale at $239 and there was an active 30% off promo code, bringing the final price down to $168 plus tax. Looking forward to trying them out!
What was that promo code and is it still active?

Never mind, I found it. But it expired Aug 24th.

I finally got around to customizing my set of M1570C's with a custom color Hart Audio cable and some 3 stage Candy Root Beer paint on the ear cups. I'm loving them even more now that they look as good as they sound.

Finished product first:

Pulled the cups off and got some red Scotch-Brite, scuffed them up:

Painted them with a silver base coat:

And like a dummy I forgot to get a picture of the 2nd stage which was the candy root beer tint. But here are the cups after the clear coat (3rd stage):

I had to do this cup twice because the first time a bug decided to go swimming on the candy stage....

Hey, thinking of modding mine, do the sides pop off or are they screwed in from the inside?

They are screwed on from the inside. Going from memory, I'm pretty sure you have to take 4 screws out that hold the pad adapter on, then 4 more screws that hold the cup on. Be careful though, they screw on through the driver mount. When taking the cups off the driver itself will be a bit loose, so do not allow them to come out.

Thanks. Just got a pair for 180 so I feel less bad modding them.

Any update from oratory?
Not yet, but I haven't asked. I was planning on touching base with him next week. He said it usually takes a few weeks to do his thing

An update: Oratory says he finished measuring the M1570C this past weekend and the Thinksound OV21 is hopefully next weekend. So, hooray. Progress has been made!
