That stock FR looks awful.
Keep in mind those EQ/measurements are based on the velour pads which are notably lacking bass.

Yeah, I saw that from following the quoted post. I should have been more clear in my comment, I meant the EQ profile was only based on the velour pads measurement, unless I totally missed something.

Off topic: I do find it odd that he says "faux leather" on the graph but says "lambskin" off to the side. They are definitely real leather pads. Not only does the smell make it obvious but my skin reacts poorly to every fake leather I have tried (yes, even the "premium" versions) and I do not get that with these pads.

Good point. Another reason why I can't wait to see the measurements from @dstarr3 and oratory. Will be super interesting.
Been radio silence on that front lately. I tried following up, I don't know if he's been off reddit for a few days or something

I just bought the 1070c with the last sale for $239 with an additional 30% off (big30). This is an outstanding headphone and a major deal. The 1070c is one of the few headphones that I will not have to mod because the treble is wonky = sibilant/etched/ peaky. I have both the m1060 modded and the 1070 modded. I have managed to get the treble right on these but doing so required a lot of testing and listening to get them right for me. Right out of the box with the lambskin pads this headphone sounds so right. The bass is somehow powerful but so natural sounding and the mids (especially vocals) are excellent. Treble as noted is excellent as well. The 1070c has immediately become my favorite headphone. Note that MP has improved the 1070c headband compared to the 1070. The fit is much better/ tighter.

I DM'd him again and nada. :triportsad:
I'd been off reddit for a few days. Apparently he got back to me yesterday, lol. Still waiting to be given an address to ship them to, but at least the line of communication is open again.

Hooray, address acquired. I'll pack up my M1570C with both pads and send them off to Oratory for measurements in the next couple days. I'm also going to be sending him my Thinksound OV21, which, while I think it sounds excellent right off the rack, I'd like to raise awareness of the headphone and an Oratory EQ couldn't hurt.

Hello fellow M1070C owners. I am trying to get some additional velour pads for the M1070/ M1070C. Do any of you have some you are not using/ will never use that you would like to sell? You can contact me by private message here at Head-Fi if you have some. I will buy the pads and pay for any shipping or fees to 43050 in Ohio. If the M1570/ 1570C use the same velour pads that will work too.

Alright, my M1570C is officially on its way to Oratory's lab. And woof, shipping was expensive. Cost me $80 to send it to him, I'll have to reimburse him a similar amount again when he ships it back, plus whatever customs fees occur. Probably cost me more to get it measured by Oratory than what I spent on the headphone itself when it's all said and done.

If any especially generous community members here want to donate a small amount to help ease the burden of my volunteering to take this bullet, Paypal donations to pianofilesfml@gmail.com will be extremely appreciated, lol.
