Comes out today. Anyone have it yet or heard it? I'm trying to sneak out of work to pick ut up.

I'm listening to it right now. Blue Monk is amazing. The recording is probably the best you'll hear of Monk and Coltrane together, but there's still a bit of a tape hiss thing, too bad. Don't get me wrong, it still sounds way better than, say, Jazz at Massey Hall lol! This is a live performance MUST!

Stereophile loved this, and said that the sound quality wasn't half bad either.

Ouchie. Stax reveals that the treble flakes off on the top. I guess the tape repro can't handle the dynamics up there. Ah well I have to keep reminding myself that this is actually a great recording for a radio show from '57!
