No, the old version had lower-quality SMD caps in those positions.

The caps are for safety -- not every batch of AD1852s will have low DC-offset, even though most probably will.

I got impatient, pulled the trigger on another RME PAD elsewhere.

LOL, that'll make, what? Three RME digi96/8 PAD's in one computer when we test these?

I wonder what the limit is on the number of RME PAD's in one computer?

Limited by the number of empty PCI slots?
The lack of IRQ conflicts with the RME soundcards makes me happy happy.

I'd be spending at least three times as much to get an external DAC that's up to the task.

ALthough, I would prefer an upgrade to the internal DAC of my Grace.
