Hi Folks;

I have a spare pair (15 ft) of Grado Prestige headphone extension cable. Does any one know if I can mod it to be balanced? I think I'm asking if it it has four wires. It's my 1st try at modding anything. Thanks in advance and I'll post also in the Cable section. Moderators..pls delete the one I misposted. Thanks.

Probably, it uses their headphone cable which is 4 wire. Be sure to put a 4pin (or 2 3pin) connector at each end. If you leave the 1/4" jack on the one end, putting a balanced connector on the other will have the REALLY BAD effect of shorting the two - channels together. Did I mention this is REALLY BAD?

Yes, I cut the end off the Grado 15 ft extension and it has 4 wires.

Yeah, but won't you still be sharing a common ground until you remove the plug from the phones?
