How about some of yours? We all have this problem from time to time. Here are some of mine.

Misheard-Theres a bathroom/baboon on the right.
Real-theres a bad moon on the rise

I don't need my pizza burning
I Don't need your beast of burden

Hold my breath as I wish for tea
Hold my breath as I wish for death.

This one's been bugging me for about 20 years.

From The Pretenders' Brass in Pocket:

"Gonna use my sausage." <-What

Everything but the Girl - Troubled Mind

Heard :"Cause with your troubled mind, you're like a good stream running through my life."

Real : "Cause with your troubled mind, you're like a goods train running through my life"

That one had me confused until I looked at the lyrics sheet.

from stereolab's "transona five":
actual:
They are one of the same,
Two inevitables,
Two inevitables,

what i heard:
They are one of the same,
Two eager little boys,
Two eager little boys,

with her french accent that really sounds like what laetitia is singing.

it always reminded me a an old benny hill joke about a woman's bum looking like "two little boys wrestling under a blanket" when she walked by.

Heard "Happiness is masterbation without the men"

Real: "Happiness is masterbation without the mess"

This is a fairly common one from the Rascals' Groovin':

"You and me and Leslie" (Who the hell is Leslie?)

Should be "You and me endlessly".

Ok, growing up I always thought that's what he said, and when mom sings along, that's what she sings. Now, this isn't my kind of music so I never gave it another thought.

So what is he saying?

That is Manfred Mann misinterpreting Bruce Springsteen's lyrics. It is supposed to be:

"And she was blinded by the light
Cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night."

Not sure what drugs Manfred was taking at the time...

One of my buddies turned me on to Hendrix in 7th grade. First time I heard, "Purple Haze", I was a little confused.

Heard: "...'Scuze me, while I kiss this guy"
Real: "... 'Scuze me, while I kiss the sky"

Bruce
