hmm, I bet I could get some mogami mini star quad cable without the jacket in there.

It's only a dollar, I might have to order one.

Yes, my plan was to make a working LOD as cheaply and easily as I could. It was my original idea to just use the connector and add my own cable but when I discovered how simple it was to just move the pins about... So for under $4.00 and about 10 minutes of puttering about.
