Thanks a lot!
Tempted to ask how the effect audio case affects the sound of my IEMs
It´s quite a bit too expensive, so if anybody knows of an Al(i)ternative please let me know
How much was it? Coz I am seeing some cheap plugs there which shouldn't be seen with a flagship.
Which cheap plugs? How do you tell? How much was it? Coz I am seeing some cheap plugs there which shouldn't be seen with a flagship.
It is a generic plug set, usually under $15-20 for the whole set. (4.4 + 2pin+splitter+chin slider) So it's important to know how much you paid.Which cheap plugs? How do you tell?
The housing or the actual pins + 4.4mm connectors?

If the cable is made with expensive wires, I think it's unreasonable to pair the wires with any random plug sets just for the look but not the sound.
This plug set is higher copper content BRASS I just checked, definitely not OFC btw.Hmm I think you're right. It's probably not pure OFC copper connectors not like what he said.
I think you're right. Did a comparison with other cheap AE cable. They're identical. This plug set is higher copper content BRASS I just checked, definitely not OFC btw.
Seems not too different from any random AliExpress bespoke cable shops, even most of the wires, the plugs and the ironmongeries you can all get from AE/Taobao.
The easiest way is by the weight coz copper is heavier than brass and brass plugs feel a bit hollow in the hand but it can be quite a guess. Another way is to heat up the plug with a hair dryer and compare the temperature. A real copper (around 97% actually) plug acts like a heat sink and it can get much hotter and takes longer to heat up. That being said some brass plugs are actually good but very unlikely these unbranded ones.I think you're right. Did a comparison with other cheap AE cable. They're identical.
Is there a way to tell between those cheap gold plated plugs to real OFC gold plated plugs?

Edit: there is only one made in China copper plug you can get on AE or Taobao as far as I know (and I have it) and no 2pin/mmcx plugs are ever made so maybe the tests are unnecessary.
Would be nicer if these ain't sourced on AE TBH.
