Im getting really pissed off by the thumping sound when I'm walking. Would a better cable/eartips help fix this issue at least to some extent?
Also, do custom IEMs also share this problem?

It's either bone conducting sounds, ro cable microphonics. these are simillar to my knowledge, but still different. try wearing the iems over the ear, if it doesn't help, then I don't know what to advice frankly :)

If it's microphonics, try wearing them with the cable over-ear and/or a shirt clip. If it's bone conduction, then there is less you can do about it except walk more lightly. You can also try different shoes.
