I too am wondering if I should get Caldera. I like a more visceral sound. Never heard any Meze or the Caldera though. I have preordered the Empyrean 2.

I own Caldera and have Empy 2 on order. I heard Empy 2 last weekend at CAF, but I don't feel comfortable comparing them until I have them side by side.

You do know that the Elite Tungsten is already available for months, and sounds identical to the Elite, right?

I didn't read the article so maybe they teased something new.

Anyways, I wouldn't expect an Elite II prior to November 2025.

Headphones purchased 11.16.23. Even if they were used without interruption until today, they did not have time to burn out. Absolutely emotional selling. Experienced audiophiles know this and don't fall into the trap of making a quick resale decision.

That’s my review. Tungsten is just a different finish option for Elite.

I did however notice a slight difference in tuning between my current Elite version vs older Elite unit my friend has but there could be several reasons for the perceived differences, including different wearing of the pads, Meze doing an internal tuning tweak or changing something in manufacturing. But yeah, since Meze never announced a tuning tweak, this is all just speculation.

Copper would be more warm sounding right? Since this is supposedly less warm than original I was leaning copper.
