It is with great pride and excitement that we present Empyrean II!
In the 5 years that have passed since the launch of our first planar magnetic model, we poured our time and expertise into creating a second-generation masterpiece that would surpass all expectations.

SONIC MASTERY REIMAGINED

Powered by Rinaro’s original Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver, Empyrean II delivers more of what you love: more clarity, more depth, more fun.
Our goal was to enhance the headphones’ ability to reproduce fine details and achieve a more neutral sound signature, all the while preserving the original “easy to listen to” character. We believe good things take time, so we spent months trying and testing out different tuning techniques until we finally had it. Our efforts revealed new possibilities in terms of resolution and detail retrieval, achieving a cleaner and more accurate representation of sound, when compared to the original Empyrean.

YOUR SOUND, YOUR CHOICE

Empyrean II comes with two sets of earpads included, for the ultimate sound customization.
  1. DUO EARPADS
Crafted from a precise blend of premium leather and Alcantara, the Duo Earpads introduce a contemporary dimension to the signature sound of Empyrean II. With leather forming the base half and Alcantara covering the rest, these earpads deliver a harmonious tonal balance that resonates across all music genres.
  1. ANGLED ALCANTARA EARPADS
Made of soft foam coated with Alcantara, with a fine protective mesh on the grill, the Angled Earpads excel at rendering intricate details and nuances in your recordings. Paired with Empyrean II, they create a detailed, airy and accurate listening experience, for the classic audiophile.

ARTISTRY MEETS COMFORT

Empyrean II retains all the beloved elements of its iconic predecessor, with an added touch of sculptural elegance. Crafted with precision via CNC milling, the aluminum frame features a sleek matte black finish with silver accents, and a redesigned grill that draws inspiration from the bold and timeless art deco patterns.

Empyrean II is one of our greatest achievements, but we didn’t do it alone. With your continuous support and honest feedback shared throughout the years, you guys have guided our journey each step of the way. For that, we thank you!

Curious to see how this differs from Elite.

Another one for the collection.
Can't wait to test it against the rest of the family, especially with all the pad combinations.

It certainly is the highest praised Meze already, going by reviewer feedback.

I hope it ships fast

@MezeTeam Meze electrostat next?
The market really needs one with Meze house sound. (And Rinaro is also very experienced with estat drivers  )

Driver name is same as Elite on specs page. As far as i understand, it’s the same driver, tuned differently?

I wish Meze to do a comparison between models on a comparison with comments regarding to the fr, measurements, line-up etc.

Also, on some dealers open box Elites are the same price as new Empy.

A better name perhaps on the latest iteration ?
Empyrean is one of the coolest headphone names ever
Why would they want to change that🤔

Empyrean has MZ3, Elite has MZ3SE
So it’s a retuned Empyrean driver, not Elite driver

It’s not the same driver as Elite but rather the same driver as the first version just tuned differently.

I meant keep Empyrean + "X" something more evocative than '2'...in a similar vein to Elite...a name rather than a number.

Empy2 = makes sense...direct replacement tied to the first model...just not a big fan of numbered models vs named ones....more emotionally evocative with names than techical numbers.

I personally found the first Empy to be like an LCD-2.1 technically - in imaging and speed - and that was 12 years on to 2nd iteration of LCD-2.

Listened to all at Canjam Dallas. Limited listening time and usual crowd noise so take opinion with a grain of salt. Meze customer service was top notch.

Elite: best of the bunch; pure bliss
Empyrean 2: pretty close but liked Elite better
Empyrean: still good but not as good as above two
109 pro: still good but different sort of sound, as expected
