Sep 7, 2016 at 10:11 AM Post #31 of 91
Hello there,

Here's an update on the tour.

We have extended the joining period until the 11th of September, 2016. The earphones will be sent out on the 12th, the following day.

If we get more people on the tour, it will allow us to make a special event out of it. Invite more of your friends and you'll see what we're talking about.

Was I supposed to get an email or confirmation about stuff? Or do I need to wait until the 12th to get any information? :p

Nope. If Meze chooses to include you in the tour you'll see your name added to a last they'll post when the submission date closes. Now, when it's your turn (if approved) you'll receive a PM between Meze, yourself, and the individual you're recording the product from and again when it's time to send it to the next. Hope I helped clarify

I mean, clarified-ish. So, I'm getting a used pair of earbuds? Isn't that a little... unsanitary? :p

In terms of "used" then I suppose that's correct. Usually if the vendor is touring an iem they'll include extra tips and entrust the users TO ONLY USE WHAT'S NECESSARY i.e. 1 pair. I'll throw Vibros Labs and Empire Ears under the buss by using them but they both included numerous extra tips for listeners and Vibros Labs even included alcohol wipes. So IMO you should be fine for I'm confident MezeTeamwill follow suit.

Silicone is washable. You can take a pair of eartips and boil them. No problems with sanitation even if they don't include loads of spare tips.

Sanitation is a priority for us, of course. But depending on how many people we'll have on the tour, we'll decide if we'll add extra tips or not. As we said in the update "If we get more people on the tour, it will allow us to make a special event out of it. Invite more of your friends and you'll see what we're talking about."

Lol, yeah I would, but they would just be making an account for "Free headphones" and might not even submit a review. I'm only 21, but I'm EXTREMELY tech savvy, so this is like.... MY FAVOURITE thing! Either way, they don't get to keep them, so it wouldn't be worth it to them. I just like to have a new pair of headphones to try. I love giving feedback!

As far as cleaning the silicon tips to, rubbing alcohol and / or hydrogen peroxide are your friends. They both remove earwax and sanitizer at the same time. I've also just washed / rinsed them with hot, soapy water. Either way is pretty darn easy.

Yuppers. Cleaning tips is a pretty straightforward process. *thumbs up*

Rubbing alcohol works great, but I would suggest diluting it.  Depending on the strength of the alcohol, there is a chance that it could dry out the silicon and cause it to crack. I know this because, well, uhh, lets just say I have other products made from silicone that all advise not using anything with alcohol to clean them.

Personally I prefer good 'ol Sunlight (cucumber-melon scent).
