Can you give some suggestions? I have an iMac (mid-2011, 21.5") that has 4GB of memory. Recently updated to Yosemite, which might be taking more memory, but I think it might be Audirvana Plus more so. I dropped the buffering level on A+, so might not see any more problems. Would it be a waste to upgrade?

I'm not a power-user on Mac, but wondering if I should upgrade, maybe to allow A+ more buffering. However, I don't want to screw things up (e.g., slower memory response, or defective/bad memory). It says SO-DIMMS at 1333 MHz DDR3 for upgrade (to 16GB). Which leads me to the next question: what are current good memory manufacturers?

I suggest getting your memory from OWC -- http://macsales.com. Definitely max out the computer if you can, it makes a huge amount of difference with everything. The less the computer has to use the hard disk the better.

I think I'll max mine out. Thanks!

I max'd it out at 16GB. So far, so good. Running A+ with 4GB buffer. Opened a whole bunch of memory hogging apps and didn't quite hit 12GB (11.97GB or something). Thanks!
