I know the specs say XC 512GB is the max SD size card you should use, but has anyone tried 1024GB or 2TB- using exFAT format of course, would be great to know before I buy one, they say theoretically up to 2TB, same as the M9

Thanks

Maybe I should have specified the price that it's selling for now, so there's no confusion. The Amazon price is now just under $100 (originally just under $200). So, is your reply valid for the price of $100?

Since I'm going to use this exclusively for cycling and running, I do have a concern with size. Can it be easily carried? I usually wear my player around my neck using a lanyard. Is there any way to attach this to a lanyard, either from the player body or is there a case with a place of attachment?

I was also considering a Hiby R2 (same price) because it's much smaller and has good reviews. Can anyone recommend one over the other? Also, I already own a Hidizs ap60II (around $100) still in good shape. I'm happy with the Hidizs, but have an itch for something better (but I don't want to break the bank).Would either the Fiio or Hiby be enough of an upgrade to buy?

not too sure about the rest of the players you stated, but the M7 seems to be quite a brick especially if you want to wear it like a necklace, and I don't see any clip/loop points on the M7 or the included TPU case either.

maybe the Hiby R2 or Fiio M5 will a better option (square and small), but I'm not too sure about the available clip/loop points on the square players.

on the Hidisz, not too sure that the M7 will be an upgrade, maybe you'll get Type-C in the M7? SQ-wise I don't think it'll be an upgrade--maybe a sidegrade, maybe get the ap80 Pro instead? (it has balanced out for more power).

I can't get the M7 to connect to my PC to transfer files to. I would like to try storing music on the M7 drive (instead of a micro SD card), but when I hook it up to my PC tower using the USB Type-C connector, it is not showing as a drive.

I found these links and they all start with the M7 connecting and showing a drive:

Instruction of installing the M7 MTP driver on Windows.pdf

How can I access the storage/SD card after connecting the M6 to the computer?-FiiO
I've never tried it with a Type-C to Type-C cable, I always use a Type-A to Type-C cable to connect the M7. For Windows, The first time setup is I plug the M7, copied the samsung USB Driver from the Fiio (that shows up as a Fiio Driver Drive) to my computer, unplugged the cable, installed the samsung USB drivers, then plug back the Fiio M7, it'll show up as a device, and there will be both the internal and external storage.

good luck!

^ how do I do this?
Just plug in your M7 to the computer(?)

the Driver files are in the drive "Fiio driver(G:)", just choose Windows, and then install the MTP driver ( I Copied the driver file to my computer before the install)

Unplug the M7, Install the Driver (copied file), Plug it back in, the M7 should show up as a "Device" (Fiio M7)

hope this helps!

Any luck with outputting correct sample rate to external DACs?

With Fiio Music and USB Output set to ON in settings - I'm getting correct sample rates on external DACs but everything sounds distorted.
With Fiio Music and USB Output set to OFF in settings / Musicolet - I'm getting everything re-sampled to 48 kHz - appears to pass through Android stack first.

Happens with both dongles and battery-powered external DACs. Tried two different OTG cables, including Fiio CL06.

Is there a right setting / app for this?

Dear friend,

You could try the Android version FiiO Music app to see if it helps: http://fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=45481&extra=page=1

Best regards
