I've had one of these since June and it's been the bane of my life. It was rushed out and almost 5 months later it's STILL crap.
What do I do with it ?
I go to the gym and I want to listen to a 4 hour DJ mix over the course of a couple of days.
So - I turn the player on and I start listening. I finish my workout after say 90 minutes.
At this point I figure, I let the thing go into standby mode so I can continue my place in the music tomorrow.
I come back tomorrow and I press the on button, it comes on - no bluetooth. For whatever reason, letting it sit over night causes the bluetooth to die in some way.
So I have to wait 5 minutes whilst the thing reboots.
Then I have to try and scroll my way back into the music - its juddery, the scrolling leaps in 10 minute bundles. The player then crashes.
Repeat x 5 until you eventually get somewhere near where you were before.
Then notice that because bluetooth has been on all night youve lost half your battery.
Finish work out, figure ok I will have to actually turn the player off then. Power it off.
Following day - wait 5 minutes for the thing to start up - does it remember where in the mix I was yesterday? No.
Spend literally months sending files to FiiO with clear instructions on how to repeat what Im doing - they eventually give up and stop responding to your emails until the latest firmware is out and then they tell you to try that.
Obviously that doesnt work because theyve not actually been recreating the problems youve been having.
Honestly, is listening to a long mp3 and then returning to it the following day really asking too much of an mp3 player in 2018 ?
I'd bin it and buy an M9 but from the reviews I can see it's got the same processor AND same software on it, so much so that the M9 identifies itself as an M7.
What an utterly winning brand!
