I bought a pair of V6s a while back, and used them portably for about three months before encountering an issue with the cable. About half an inch or so in from the plug, if that segment of the cable bends, the sound will cut in and out in one or both channels. Walking around with them makes this almost impossible to avoid. I couldn't get warranty service (I bought them grey-market from a US retailer and I live in Canada), so I brought them into a local repair shop. I asked him if they needed recabling (and while he's at it, could he put in a shorter cable?) The guy said he couldn't fix the issue, couldn't (or wouldn't) recable them, and if I was using them as portables, the strain on the cord would just result in them breaking no matter what I did. Is this legit, or should I take them somewhere else? Or, for that matter, is it worth having them recabled at all? They cost $80 new in Canada. p.s. I absolutely do not have the skills needed to recable them myself :frowning2:
