I've just ordered from Japan a used pair of SA5000, which costs me around $450 including shipment and taxes.
I then found myself very nonsense since on Ebay it is around $400 and BRAND NEW !!
What a pity!
 
I'd like to ask if that D4 is capable of driving the SA5000 or not.
I use it from Macbook Air and have no battery, which mean it is 5V, as DAC and AMP.

I'm not familiar with the D4, but I do not recommend portable amps with the SA5000. In my experience, they only come to life with a decent desktop amp. I prefer to run my pair from a tube amp - I feel that tubes give them a little becessary warmth. YMMV, of course.

Yeah, I'm very hurt when I realized that SA5000 from the west cost far less than one that come from Japan.

 
I also have a plan to upgrade to Matrix Mini-i, but I have to sell D4 first (Our country's economy shrink down to valley of death. I live in Thailand.)
