McIntosh D1100 DAC/Preamplifier impressions

Finally, I bought a C1100C+T so my system contains:
CD MCT500
DAC D1100
PRE C1100C+T
POW MC462

The sound is so much better than using D1100 only (as DAC + PRE).

By the way, my speaker is Sonus Amati Tradition and cables are Nordost Valhalla 2 and Tyr 2. Everything seems perfect now

It happens. The D1100 is a preamp dac but is missing a few features the C1100 has. He may not have needed those features.
I just read the D1100 might not work with the new C1200 because it doesn't have a direct interface to the D1100. I wonder if Mcintosh is working on a D1200? I was thinking about the next time Mcitntosh has a trade up program about trading my C1100. I like the idea of have the solid state or tube option in the 1200. Listen to music all day and not have to worry about the tubes.

The C12000? No it doesn’t have a din interface but the D1100 will work just fine with the C12000. However McIntosh is now using the current gen saber dac making a NEW dac inevitable soon.

I’d have to agree with that assessment

Thank!. Next time the trade up program comes around I'm getting the C1200. I'm really happy with the D1100 as a DAC. Streaming with my Aurender N10 is magic to my ears. How does the MCD 1200 sound? Still no reviews which is strange. Are they selling lots of them?

Bro, the model number you’re using is incorrect. It’s the “12000” series. Add one more 0.

We do sell many of the MCD12000. And lots of the C12000. The biggest seller in the 12000 series is the MA12000.

The MCD12000 is amazing even at the high price it sells for. It has the newest Sabre dac on board with a number of cool ways to use the dac beyond a dedicated CD dac.

If you’re following the TSAV YouTube channel you’ll see a review on the MCD12000 in a few weeks
