Maybe I ought to consider the MDA1000 - as DAC so that I can get close to the vinyl sound as much as possible...

Syan25.......McIntosh has recently released a new MCD1100 CD/SACD player with five digital inputs to the latest quad balanced ESS Sabre32 Reference DAC.  Several of my friends have purchased the new MCD1100, and sold their MDA1000, as well as MCD1000 transports.  From all reports, the MCD1100 is a true step up in performance.  Having said this, there will most likely be some MDA1000's beginning to show up on the used market at fairly attractive prices.  This might be a good time to pick one up.  It is an excellent DAC, and very well respected for its top shelf performance.
