Martin Logan Mikros 70 Review

Like Inks said, there's something about them.  Usually I like bright phones and I'm quick to return something if it doesn't meet my demands (like the Klipsch S4, SOL Amps, Philips 3580, Ultimate Ears and a bunch of others - I've returned so many headphones that stores have my picture hanging up behind the counter).  But for some reason I just kept listening to these and now my other phones just don't sound right.
 
As for the ER-6i's, gnarlsagan, I spent a lot of time ensuring I had a good seal - even so far as ordering the two-flange tips.  The seal was so good that the sound of my own breathing was like the sound one would hear while scuba diving.  I found that I was spending a lot of time trying to jam the phones deeper into my ears to reclaim the missing bass.
 
I did love the rest of the frequency range, though, and it almost made up for the bass.

I need to check if the FXD70 has less bass than the M70. Surprisingly the bass on the FXD70 is much tighter and controlled than the FXD80

I picked these up and really didn't like them out of the box. Cold and lacking bass. I beat the crap out of them  with DJ Krush and Dave Mathews with Depapepe for 12 hours.
 
I feel after a good warmup so far they are detailed but not accurate. Warm with a lot of bass but it is not heavy. My iPhone 4 is barely enough to drive these but iPad and laptop are good. Bass heavy tracks like Beastie Boys Intergalactic UK Remix show that the Mikros can get overwhelmed at moderate volumes. Probably because of it's smaller than average driver.
 
I am not sure how I feel about them overall just yet.
 
Just my novice opinions of course.

I bought one and I'm using direct from my MacBook pro 2012 and the sound is astonish. I tried it with amps and other founts but boy, this was designed to come direct from an apple old device jajajaja. I love it. I'm planing to sell my other headphones.
