I'm looking at the $200 range again, and it seems a new competitor, the 1More Quads, has entered the ring I'm contemplating getting a pair off amazon to audition against the new set of A4's I just got, and will return one of them, but I wanted to hear what you all thought.
I used to own the A4's, but one of them broke. They sounded fantastic, though I would have preferred it if they had sounded like an upgraded closer-to-reference Trinity house sound.
I prefer an open sound with good detail in the mids. The mids can be a bit recessed, as long as they are of quality. I prefer a lower treble and upper mid forward sound, but can appreciate a warmer one as well, though I don't like unnecessary base. Good detail/texture and fast attack/decay is a must, preferably at as large a frequency range as possible.
TL;DR Which phone is better for a detail-ophile/seperation-o-phile preferring flat or bright sound and tolerating some V shape?
